English has been the exclusive language of instruction and communication throughout both my academic and professional journey. I began my career in the Odisha Education Service, Class II, under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, India, where my responsibilities included teaching, research in Commerce and Management, and academic administration. I retired with distinction as Odisha Education Service, Class I, Grade A, having served the field of higher education for over 33 years.

During my tenure, I served as Coordinator of two prestigious postgraduate programs — the Integrated Masters in Business Management (IMBA) and the Masters in Finance & Control (MFC) — at B.J.B. College, Utkal University, India. I was also appointed Professor and Dean of the Dr. P.C. Mahalanabish School of Management in West Bengal, India. Internationally, I held the role of Head of the Department of Business Management & Foreign Languages at Singapore Informatics and Business Management Education Ltd., located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

As of November 16, 2007, I was the first academician from the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha to be awarded the Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) in Business Administration. Earlier, in January 2006, I became the first academician from Asia (as confirmed through internet-based sources) to author a comprehensive book on management philosophy and leadership — Management Thought (ISBN: 81-7625-623-4), a detailed exploration of classical and modern management thinkers and contemporary global business leaders.

Even after retirement, I remain actively engaged in academic life by delivering lectures at institutions across India and abroad, with continued emphasis on research, travel, and lifelong learning. My global exposure includes academic visits to the USA, Singapore, and Thailand, enriching my intercultural perspective and professional outlook.

I’ve also successfully leveraged social media platforms to share insights and mentor young professionals. On LinkedIn, I have built a professional network of over 16,630 followers, and for more than six years, I’ve consistently ranked among the top contributors to the Harvard Business Review LinkedIn community.

As a regular reader of Strategy+Business, MIT Sloan Management Review, and the Harvard Business Review, I remain closely attuned to evolving global trends. In 2013, Prof. David Joyce (UK) referenced sections of Management Thought in his international presentations, while Prof. Enrique Suarez (USA) has expressed ongoing interest in academic collaboration.

My academic qualifications include M.Com, MBA, Ph.D. in Commerce, and D.Litt. in Business Administration. I also maintain an informed global academic outlook through both research and continued engagement with my children, who have pursued postgraduate studies at Columbia University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
